This semester course is designed to introduce high school students, with little or no background in computers or computer programming, to the basic concepts of computer programming. The course teaches students to create fun and engaging applications using Visual Basic.Net. Through the course students are introduced to the basic concepts of programming, such as writing pseudo code, creating forms, defining and declaring variables and more. The course will allow students to explore the world of programming, practice creating code and develop a better sense of what it means to be a computer programmer.

In this “hands on” program, students will learn to use the computer as a problem-solving tool. Through project-based activities, students will develop basic programming technique and style in a variety of programming languages. Students will develop their programming skills and knowledge using Visual Basic.Net as the primary language for the course. Where significant differences do exist in syntax between VB.Net and C# or J#, students will be introduced to those differences and have opportunity to view coding examples in each of these languages.

This site was created by two students in Mr. Fine's Web Design class to aid other students in their learning experience. Each section provides a different help tool. If there are things you are unsure of that you feel this site does not cover please check the "Reference Links" section. In that section you will find links for all of the classes divided easily into sections.
