Free Ice Cream at Friendly's
Friendly's is bringing back its Free Ice Cream Day promotion on June 6. In participating restaurants from noon to 5p.m. customers will be given one scoop of Friendly's 26 flavors of ice cream. Last year over 300,000 cones were given away on Free Ice Cream Day. This year participation is expected to increase due to advertisements on Facebook and Twitter.Smoking Ban in North Carolina
It has been decided that as of January 10, 2010 smoking in restaurants and bars will be banned. There are a few exceptions. People will still be able to smoke on patios outside. Also country clubs and nonprofit membership clubs are exempt. Any operator that does not enforce the law will be fined $200 while individuals will have to pay $50 for breaking the law. Likely many restaurants will start to build patios in order to satisfy their customers. The most ironic part about this law is the fact that North Cariolina has been the main producer of tabacco products in the United States for the last 400 years.
